An Unexpected Safari Extravaganza
The Bali Safari & Marine Park is Asia’s leading open air safari, 30 minutes from Sanur or Ubud up the East Coast Highway. Get up close and personal with lions, tigers, hippos, rhinos, giraffe, elephants and many animals native to Indonesia, India and Africa.
The Safari Park also features some highlight exhibits: The white tigers of Ranthambore, Komodo Dragons and Elephant treks. There are also keeper talks, educational shows on conservation and breeding, feeding times for the White Tigers, Komodo Dragons and Piranhas and for kids there is a fun zone and pool.
Recently the Park has opened a spectacular cultural show, Bali Agung, which tells Bali’s most famous myths, based on Bali’s volcanos and unique cultural mix. It is a world class production well worth watching, created by an Australian team who also designed the Olympic ceremonies.
Plan to spend at least a morning till lunch or afternoon till dinner here as there are so many things to do, see and experience you’ll only be missing out if you rush through in less time than that. Visit between Thursday and Sunday and you’ll also be able to fit in the renowned Bali Agung show from 2:30pm and 3:30pm.

What to bring:
You are going into a jungle environment that can get really hot and humid so make sure you carry extra water with you (of course you can purchase at the park)
Bring a hat and sun protection as there are many opportunities to walk around in the sun
And bring a cushion if you need, as when moving from area to area the wooden benches can get hard.
